• Our Monthly Theme: This month our theme will be “Dinosaurs Large and Small.”
We will learn about many interesting facts about different kinds of dinosaurs. The letters of focus will be: Ee is for egg, Ii is for Iguanodon and Nn is for nest.

• Field Trip - Dino Dig: We will be going on Dino Dig at City Square Park. Students will work in a group to assemble a large dinosaur. While locating the necessary
pieces, the students will learn more information about their dinosaur. We are looking for parent volunteers to help direct each team of students. If you are interested in helping a team, please fill out the attached form. In case of rain on the scheduled day, we have an alternative date available later in the week. The MWF classes will have their Dino Dig on Monday, May 10th at 9:45am and 12:45pm. The T TH class will have their Dino Dig on Tuesday, May 11th at 9:45am.

• Spring Program: Tuesday, May 18th will be the program date for the T TH class and Thursday, May 20th will be the program date for the MWF classes. The morning classes will perform at 6:00pm and the afternoon class will perform at 7:00pm. Please bring your child to the classroom 15 minutes before the performance. We will prepare to sing and then walk out together. The children will be presented with their preschool diploma and scrapbook. Everyone is invited to join us for a cookie at the conclusion of the performance.

• Westview Acres: During our monthly visit on May 12th, we will dance around the May pole with the residents. We will also sing our Program songs for them.

• Show and Tell: Please check the calendar closely to see when your child has Show and Tell. Groups have been combined so everyone gets one last turn this month.

• Scrapbooks: Scrapbooks are due back at school by May 17th.

• Literacy backpacks: Thank you for your participation with the literacy backpacks. All backpacks need to be returned by May 11th.

• Book order: The book order will be due May 7th. The order is due early in the month to ensure that we receive the books before the end of the school year.

• Picnic in the Park: On our last day of school we are having a picnic at City
Square Park. This year our last days of classes are Thursday, May 27th and Friday, May 28th. The children are going to make a fresh fruit salad to eat at the park. We are asking that each family bring in a small amount of a fresh fruit to contribute to the salad. Please send it ready to be used (washed, peeled, and cut up). The class will start to walk to the park at 9:50am and 1:05pm. Parents and siblings are welcome to join us there! We will also bring the sign-out sheet so that you may leave right from the park. In case of rain we will be at school.

• A Spcial Thank You: I would like to thank everyone for a wonderful year! We have all learned so much during our time together. Every day was a new learning adventure. It was wonderful! Thank you for the opportunity to become part of your child’s life!
